Do you believe that unless we treat global warming seriously, our planet would sucker punch us like a crazed heavy weight boxing champion? Are you willing to help reduce carbon footprint, but can not live without comforts of modern life? Are you the type who believes that travelers should take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but footprints?
I might have found a great hotel for the conservationist type. The Siloso Beach Resort is probably one of the few hotels who boast that they have a green conscience. Situated amidst lush greeneries and sitting right in front of the beach, this will surely be a hit for nature lovers.
Hotel management takes recycling, flora and fauna protection and energy and water conservation seriously (don’t worry you can still shower as you please). I won’t bore you with the details, but if you see birds flying and squirrels running around like house pets, you’ll know you are in a zoo…err a Green hotel.
Our room was spacious enough. One of the first things you’ll notice is the wide glass window which gives an impressive view of the beach. I am not really sure how young or how old the hotel is, but the room still had the “new” feel to it. If we had a lot of time to waste, we wouldn’t have mind if we stayed in and just lazed around.
Hotel food has the reputation of not being up to par with stand alone restaurants. But not wanting to waste the buffet breakfast that was included with the stay, we of course tried it. It wasn’t bad at all. They had steamed buns (siopao), fried noodles, sausages, eggs cooked your way, cereals, tropical fruits and more. Not really the best, but all of them were quite tasty.
If you would like to spend a night or two in Sentosa to enjoy all the attractions, you might want to stay at the Siloso Beach Resort. They have one of the best rates in the island and you’ll feel good knowing the hotel is concerned with the environment
